Windows 8 hasn’t been widely taken up; will Windows 10 prove more successful?
We all know that Windows 8.1 was disappointing, yes it had some great ideas, but the interface just didn’t work for users. But the years have allowed Microsoft the opportunity to research and develop and realise that in an age of constant development, people can change operating systems at the drop of a hat and expect flexibility from their operating system.
Microsoft have finally accepted that people like access everything, every app and program across every platform. Windows 10 in response can be run on tablets and smartphones, it is also compatible with universal apps.
Windows 10 Pro also includes Hyper-V for virtualisation, perfect for small business owners. All in all its interface is practical and efficient, with easy extras bundled together nicely. It has also taken inspiration from a rival with a Quiet Hours feature, which turns off notifications when you don’t want to be disturbed. The live tiles remain, a feature we are much more settled with in recent years.
The best news is Windows 10 Home and Pro is free to Windows 7 and 8.1 users, so for home users and small business owners it is an excellent addition. Call one of our experts and they can get you through upgrading and beyond.
